U16 Final vs Brighton & Hove at Arundel Castle - 10th August
==============================
=================
Despite 60 no from opener Steven Crosby, Brighton & Hove were restricted by steady St James’s bowling (of which James Howard was the pick with 2 for 18 from his 8 overs) to a modest 147 in their 45 overs. After a flying start St James’s were pegged back by an equally steady B & H attack and at 98 for 4 after 28 overs the game was in the balance. Opener Michael Gibbs, deservedly winner of the Man of the Match award, then took the game by the scruff of the neck and when he was out for 62 only 19 were required off 11 overs. An immaculate straight drive for 4 by John Glover finished the match in the most satisfactory style for St James’s.
